Naruto Shippuuden Clash of Ninja Revolution III
Filed under: Naruto Games

Description: The premier Naruto fighting game for the Nintendo Wii, based on the Naruto Shippuuden series, following Naruto on through the early part of the story. This Naruto game includes characters never before seen in the Clash of Ninja series, and new mini-games designed specifically for the Wii Remote and seamless online play through Wi-Fi.

Our thoughts: This is, by far, the best Naruto game on the Nintendo Wii (and not just because it’s one of the only ones). Really solid gameplay, the mini-games with the Wii Remote look really fun to play, and the graphics are really good for a Wii game. It really feels like the anime’s come to life (Broken Bonds and Ultimate Ninja Storm did it better, but hey, it’s the Wii!). If you own a Wii and love/like Naruto, this is the Naruto game for you. Oh, and the online play actually works pretty well, which is always a plus.

Naruto The Broken Bond Xbox 360

Description: Taking place as soon as the other game (Rise of a Ninja) ends, with Orochimaru’s attack on the village and the Hokage’s sacrificial death, this game takes on a darker atmosphere than the previous game, with Naruto frantically trying to rescue his friend, and Sasuke dealing with his inner turmoil. The beloved mini-games from the first game return with some improvements, and the fighting system from the first game also returns, with improvements to that, as well.

Our thoughts: I’m sad to admit this, but I haven’t gotten around to playing this yet. I have played the demo for it, and the demo was REALLY good, but I just keep forgetting to get it.. I’ll fill you in on what I know about it, though. Like the description says, it starts immediately where the first game leaves off and ends with Naruto’s battle with Sasuke. The fighting game mechanics have been improved in this one, as has the platforming and the mini-games. This is the definitive Naruto game on Xbox 360, so if you don’t have this, GET IT! You won’t be disappointed. In fact, I think I’m going to order this after I get finished with this post.. I can’t believe I kept forgetting to get it. In case you’re interested in Metacritic stats, this one is highly acclaimed in reviews. Check out their site for more details.

Naruto Rise of a Ninja Xbox 360

Description: Join Naruto and his friends in his quest to become a Chuunin! Closely follows the story of the first half of the anime, from the beginning on up to the end of the Chuunin exams, ending with Naruto’s confrontation with Gaara! Exciting mini-games, deep fighting game action, and a great Naruto game!

Our thoughts: I’ve played this one– in fact, it was the first Naruto game I had ever played.. and boy, was I surprised. Not only does it very, very closely follow the show’s story, but the fighting is really, really fun in that game. I played that game even after I had beaten it, just because I was having so much fun with it. If you have an Xbox 360, please get this game, I guarantee you that you won’t regret it. Trust me. If you don’t enjoy it, you can come.. beat me up, or something! The only downside I can give about this game is that it doesn’t go very far into the story, but I only complain about that just because I want more of it. Besides, they made another game (Broken Bond, also on this site), and it covered everything left out by the first game, so it’s all good. In closing: one of the best Naruto games ever made, and it’s enjoyable, in my opinion, by people who don’t even know, or like, Naruto.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm PS3

Description: A head-to-head fighting game based on the original Naruto series allows players to join Naruto in his quest from the beginning of the original series, on up to his bitter battle with his long-time friend, Sasuke. Deep fighting system, mini-games and more.

Our thoughts: I personally don’t own a PS3, so I can’t comment on it directly, but I have heard nothing but good about this game. Like the other Naruto games, this game sports a pretty deep fighting system, and on Metacritic.com, it’s praised as one of the best Naruto games ever made. The reviews are pretty high for this one, so if you own a PS3 and love Naruto, you need to buy this! Hey, even if you don’t even know what Naruto is, maybe you should check it out; I know a fighting game fan that loves the game, and he had no idea what Naruto was before he played it.
